Google has introduced a streamlined method for importing key events from GA4 into Google Ads, making conversion tracking easier than ever. Here’s a step-by-step guide to walk you through the process:

Step 1: Verify Your Google Analytics and Google Ads Link

Before proceeding, ensure that your GA4 property is linked to your Google Ads account. This connection is crucial for importing your events successfully.

Step 2: Access Conversion Actions

  1. In your Google Ads account, navigate to Tools and Settings.
  2. Select Conversions under the “Measurement” section.
  3. Go to the Summary tab to view your conversion actions.

Step 3: Create a New Conversion Action

  1. Click on Create a Conversion Action.
  2. At the top of the page, you’ll notice a message welcoming you to the simplified conversion measurement setup.

Step 4: Link Your GA4 Property

  • If your GA4 property is already linked, it will appear here. Simply select it.
  • If it is not linked, click on Add URL.
  • Enter your website URL and proceed.

Step 5: Select Your Tag

Once your URL is added, you’ll see two options:

  • Google Tag
  • Google Analytics Tag

Select the Google Analytics Tag and proceed.

Step 6: Choose Your Conversion Action

  1. After confirming your GA4 property, click Continue.
  2. Depending on your business type, select the most relevant action category. For instance, if you’re tracking sign-ups, select Sign Up.
  3. Within the sign-up category, choose Generate Lead.

Step 7: Finalize the Setup

  1. Click Save to confirm your settings.
  2. Then, select Save and Continue to complete the process.

Conclusion
